After the 2005 earthquake, a group of villagers in Abbottabad began construction on a purpose-built compound. Despite the fact that there was no planning permission, they added a storey in an unauthorized manner.
The compound has since been completed, but the residents of the area continue to live there. The new compound is now known as the Waziristan House, and it is home to hundreds of Pashtun migrants.
Effects of earthquake on Abbottabad
